Message from the President

When TAB Bank started in 1998 at the request of our parent company, Flying J, Inc. (now FJ Management, Inc.), we were known as Transportation Alliance Bank. The name described exactly what we did for the first decade of our existence - we served the financial needs of the trucking industry. Primarily through Accounts Receivable Financing, Equipment Funding, and Deposit Accounts for our trucking company customers and their drivers, TAB built one of the largest portfolios of trucking relationships. We always intended to be the leader in financing transportation. However, as we grew and matured as a bank, we were also able to take our expertise to other commercial industries, and have since built a significant portfolio of relationships outside of trucking.

The period since TAB Bank started has not only been the most volatile for the trucking industry, but arguably the most volatile for the entire world economy. TAB has learned a lot over the years and applied that knowledge to the benefit of all our clients. We have worked side-by-side with our clients no matter the stage of their business or the shape of the economy.

Knowing who we are, and who we are not, is integral to TAB's success. We are a specialized commercial bank with specific solutions for our customers. We do not have branches or the overhead expenses that come with them. We do have qualified professionals ready and able to meet our customers' financing needs. Around the office, we like to say that we roll up our sleeves and work side-by-side with our clients. Our set up and our makeup require us to work this way. Most of our relationships happen over long distance without the benefit of frequent face-to-face interaction with our clients.
