As many know, consumer spending accounts for a large percentage of the nation's economic activity. A large portion of this spending occurs during the holiday season each year. While it is still too early to tell, signs point to a strong holiday season in terms of consumer spending. The National Retail Federation is showing a strong increase in imports for August, September, and October – the three key months when retailers import the bulk of the merchandise they will sell during the holiday season.

Credit is a key component of any successful commercial business. Decisions about credit need to be made carefully and with much consideration. Businesses need reliable information from reliable sources when it comes to what customers should be extended credit and at what amount. Clients of TAB Bank's working capital financing programs have the added security that these credit decisions are being handled by a team of seasoned commercial finance professionals with years of experience in the industry of commercial credit. This team manages a very extensive database of account debtors on behalf of TAB's clients. Thousands of companies are reviewed and analyzed on a daily basis as to their ability to pay commercial invoices processed by TAB Bank. The team at TAB Bank relies on timely and accurate credit information, analytics, and reports from many credit agencies in their daily analysis and review. One such credit agency utilized by TAB for this purpose is Ansonia Credit Data.

Ansonia Credit Data empowers businesses with information they need at competitive prices. They offer business owners and credit managers a new way of managing risk, payment processes and cash flow, and automating decision-making. Combining robust credit intelligence, quality analytics, and push technologies, Ansonia is able to produce a unique brand of concise, consistent, and continuously updated reports that businesses can count on to help ensure superior performance.

Conceived by a business owner tired of the same outdated financial statements and other irrelevant data supplied by conventional vendors, Ansonia was founded with one key question in mind: How do companies pay their bills? With no set-up or annual fees, and no long-term contracts, their reports feature real-time access to a global database on companies of every size, industry, and market segment, receiving more than a half billion dollars daily in new accounts receivable activity.

"We truly do offer industry-leading and innovative credit management solutions for our many clients. We take very seriously the obligation to provide them with the very best in reports, tools, and analytics that will help them successfully manage the credit aspect of their business. Our relationship with TAB Bank allows us to extend these solutions to several businesses. We are pleased with the trust they place in us on behalf of the many credit decisions they make on behalf of their clients," commented Tinamarie Sulpizio, Director of Sales for Ansonia Credit Data.

TAB Provides Title Sponsorship at Annual Ogden Rescue Mission Charity Golf Tournament

We were pleased to provide the title sponsorship at the annual Ogden Rescue Mission Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament this year was held at the Wolf Creek Golf Course in beautiful Eden, UT on Friday, September 7th. We were also well-represented at this event by two foursomes of TAB employees who competed in the tournament. It was a great event and we were thrilled to be a part of it.

TAB Bank has been a sponsor of the Ogden Rescue Mission Charity Golf Tournament every year it has been held. The first tournament was held in 2001, where with TAB's help, $8,500 was raised. To date, the golf tournament has raised $197,325 for the Ogden Rescue Mission or an average of $17,938 per year. The last seven years have been the most successful in terms of dollars earned with a total of $160,300 being raised or an average of $22,900 per year.

"There is a lot I could say about TAB Bank's support. First, the bank, with a generous annual grant of $10,000, is far and away our largest dollar sponsor for the tournament and a major reason for the tournament's success. In addition, since TAB's involvement in 2005 as the title sponsor, the tournament has gained greater credibility and as a result we have seen a significant increase in tournament revenue beyond TAB's grant. And finally, TAB has been a generous partner in providing goodie bag items for the tournament participants with items such as golf balls, golf towels, hats, and water bottles. All in all, TAB Bank has been a very generous and helpful partner in making the Ogden Rescue Mission Charity Golf Tournament one of the premier charity golf events in northern Utah and one of the most successful," stated George Squires, Director of the tournament.

The golf tournament is a major fundraiser for the Ogden Rescue Mission and provides necessary funds for this community-based organization to achieve its objectives. Each year more than 100,000 meals are prepared and served to poor and needy men, women, and children who come to the Ogden Rescue Mission's doors for help. Once inside, they realize that the Mission is so much more than a soup kitchen or a shelter. Here they can also find peace and hope. Additional services include a free medical and dental clinic, a thrift store, rehabilitation services, and so much more. //
