When you work as a truck driver, your personal banking needs extend beyond the basic financial services offered by most banks. Truckers Trust Us for Alternative Check Cashing. You Can Too.
Long hours on the road. Days behind the wheel. Time away from home. Truckstop meals and fast food. Working as a truck driver is challenging.
Another thing that can be difficult for truck drivers is to navigate local roads to get to a bank branch in order to cash various forms of alternative payments such as EFS and Comcheks. You can run into multiple problems going this route, such as finding out the bank that you need is not in that particular town. Even worse, sometimes your account gets flagged for possible fraud just because you have traveled through several states because of your job.
Unlike opening up a traditional checking account, opening up a trucker checking bank account is not as easy as traveling to a local branch, filling out some applications, putting down an initial deposit, and walking out with your new debit card. In your profession, you spend so much time on the road that hitting up a local branch is likely not an option for you because you are probably in a different town, state, or both.
Don’t worry. We’ve got you covered. TAB Bank offers online banking for our Chrome Checking Accounts, which allows you to electronically collect Comdata payments, T-Cheks, and EFS (Electronic Funds Source) payments.
Our financial services have been developed from the ground up to cater to the needs of America’s hard-working truck drivers. Driven individuals choose us as a one-stop shopping experience for equipment loans, accounts receivable financing, and banking products. We’re ready to partner with you for the long haul.

What is Comchek Payment? EFS Checks? T-Cheks?
Truck drivers and fleet operators accept many different alternatives to trucker paper checks. Why has the trucking industry made this shift away from paper trucker checks and toward digital options? Because paper checks are outdated and digital trucker checks are a faster more secure option.
In 2019 there was a satisfaction survey by PYMTS.com and Ingo Money, and paper checks ranked at the very bottom at 4.4 out of 100 types of preferred payment methods by employers. This was the lowest score out of any disbursement option on the survey. In addition, there are multiple security issues that can arise with paper checks, such as losing them. Also, there are possibilities for holds, especially during the holidays, storms, or natural disasters. These complications are only compounded for workers who spend much time on the road and do not have a physical address to send paper checks to.
Thankfully, trucking companies have various payment options available that avoid the use of trucker checks. The following is a breakdown of the different types of electronic payments that we accept at TAB Bank with our trucker bank account, Chrome Checking.
1. EFS Checks – This acronym stands for “Electronic Funds Source” and these are checks that are offered through a company with the same initials, Electronic Funds Source LLC. In order to utilize an EFS check, a truck driver or fleet operator needs an issue number and a transaction number, and then the EFS provides an authorization number. This authorization number is tied to a specific dollar amount. EFS acquired the T-Cheks system in 2012.
2. Comcheks – Comcheks are a type of electronic payment offered by Comdata. Brokers, shippers, and factoring companies often use Comcheks as a form of payment paid to motor carriers. Carriers can also use them to make payments for transportation-related expenses, such as maintenance, fuel, and lumpers.
Electronic forms of payment for trucker bank accounts are awesome for putting money into your driver’s wallet a lot faster. What banks cash EFS checks? We do! The beauty of TAB Bank is that once you’ve submitted your electronic check, your money is immediately deposited into your trucker bank account and available for use.
